About me

I’m a second-year MS in Robotics student at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute. I work with Prof. Abhisesh Silwal in the Kantor Lab on Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) for forest environments. My current research develops methods to merge under-canopy and above-canopy maps to produce comprehensive 3D forest reconstructions.

Previously, I was a Project Scientist at the Indian Institute of Techonology Delhi (IITD) under the mentorship of Prof. Rohan Paul and Prof. P.V.M Rao. There, I worked on leveraging foundation models for embodied AI, developing open-world perception and planning methods for field and assistive robots, and building autonomy stacks with a focus on task planning and world modeling. I did my undergraduate studies from the Department of Electronics and Communication at National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC).

In the summers of 2019 and 2022, I worked with Prof. Sam K. Zachariah on mathematical modelling and control of various robotic systems(2R manipulator and quadruped). And, for my undergraduate thesis, I worked with Prof. Praveen Sankaran on novel image processing techniques for underwater image enhancement.

I am also proud to be the recipient of the ‘Best Outgoing Student of the Year’ and ‘Er M L Bapna Gold medal’, distinctions I received for the outstanding academic performance and contributions in the undergraduate program. Apart from academics, I have a keen interest in musical pursuits and photography.
